Bran Davies,
In accordance with your request, my lord Arthur has instructed me to arrange your lady mother's financial affairs.
As you may be aware, until the last century or so a woman was entitled to a sum of wealth that was held in trust for her potential widowhood, known as her dower or dower right. Under the circumstances there is no reason why your lady mother should not be considered a widow, and therefore able to take advantage of that right -- or rather, its contemporary equivalent in moveable currency.
By my reckoning of the accounts, the sum involved will be more than sufficient to cover her existing costs at Milliways and provide her with a comfortable amount of money for quite some time to come. This arrangement, I trust, will ensure that she need have no concerns about her living expenses. If the money from her dower should run out before she departs from Milliways, then further support will of course be arranged...but for the present, and the foreseeable future, she is provided for.
I have spoken to the bar concerning this matter. Her tab will remain at the zero point, and will be considered paid in full. Should she wish to know how much money she has remaining, she may request the information from the bar at any time. And finally, I am available to answer any questions that either you or she may have concerning this arrangement.
I remain,
M. Lyon
